Import and export of models
The import functions are available via the menu File > Import... You have two possibilities to import models. Via the menu item Import Submodels... you can import one or more partial models of an existing model. With Import complete model you can import a complete model into your model.
Import partial model
If you choose File > Import... > Import Submodel... a dialog appears in which you can open a model file.
After importing the file, the submodels from this model are displayed in a list. Select the partial models to be imported by placing a check mark in front of the corresponding partial model. Click on Import part models to add the selected part models to your model.
Import entire model
To import an entire model, select File > Import... > Import Entire Model....
The selected model is then added to your model.
The export functions are available via the menu File > Export... There are several possibilities to export a model or parts of a model.
Export as graphic
If a model is displayed in the document window, you can export it as a graphic. After selecting File > Export... > Export as Graphic..., a dialog box appears in which you can give the file to be exported a name and select a directory.
Under File type, you can select the file type of the graphic file.
By clicking on Save, the file is exported.
Export via XSLT
You can export via XSLT after selecting the menu File > Export > Export via XSLT....
With the help of XSLT you have the possibility to export a whole model or single submodels into different formats. Currently, this function is used to convert 3LGM² models into HTML descriptions that can be viewed in a browser. The XSLT scripts required for this are available in the 3LGM² Building Kit.
Fig.: 'Export via XSLT' dialog box
In the Export via XSLT dialog box, the source to be exported is displayed at the top. This is your current model. A table lists all submodels of this model. By default, all models are selected for export. You can recognize this by the check mark in the column with the name Include. If you want to exclude one of the submodels from the export, uncheck the checkbox.
In the table below you will find a selection of scripts. You can execute one of the scripts at a time. Select the script to be executed by selecting the row in the table. You can now save the result of the export in a file and, if the export is an HTML file, display it in the browser. To do this, select the buttons Show result in browser or Save result to file.
Start the export by clicking the Execute export script button.
The displayed export scripts are loaded from one or more directories. You can use the Directory of XSLT scripts button to change the directories in which XSLT scripts are to be searched.
Note: The Delete Export Script button allows you to remove an export script from the list of scripts. The script is then also deleted from the directory from which it was loaded.
Export submodels
This function is available via File > Export > Export Submodels.... Here you have the possibility to export a partial model of your model. When you call this function, a list of the submodels of your current model is presented. Select the submodels to be exported by placing a check mark in the Export column. Select a file to which the models are to be exported. Enter the complete path of the file to which the submodels are to be exported under Target or enter a path and file name using the Browse dialog.
Export complete model
This function allows you to save the entire model under a different name.
Web-Export
This function is available via File > Export > Web-Export.... The Web-Export is an XSLT export, which generates HTML files only. You have the possibility to export your model or single elements of the model in HTML format and display them in your browser. In the Web-Export dialog all exportable elements are displayed in a table. If you do not want to export an element, uncheck the Include column.
Under Target a folder is specified in which the web export is saved.
Click on OK to start the web export.
Export scripts are available for the items displayed in the table. These are loaded from one or more directories. With the button Directory of XSLT scripts you can change the directories in which XSLT scripts are to be searched.
